First!
Oh damnit.
Anyway, really great news for all involved. And don't worry Rand, it's fine. I can handle the fact that you love Will & the boys more than me. It's the maths degrees right? Or is it the haggis? Whatever it is, I won't hold it against you!
;)
Apart from the obvious congratulations, it's funny that my first thought was... "Wow. This will impact the Critchlow/Dr Pete feud in so many ways...".

I feel like DrPete should receive some sort of honorarium as a "Central Time Zone Associate" and a special badge to go with it, just to keep things even.

Last time I checked, Pete had pulled a long way ahead in that race. I imagine Will is ready to stage a comeback, and I expect he'll be wanting to change the Mozpoints model to include answering Q&A.

Everybody knows you don't get MozPoints for answering Q&A. Although the blogging may help.
Ha! You hope we never get points for answering Q&A!
Little bit late swinging by here (early morning meetings suck) but echoing what the others said. Thanks for the great comments on this post and thanks for the glowing write-up, Scott. As everyone might imagine, the feeling is entirely mutual. We have been huge fans of the moz for a long time now and are really really excited about this whole thing.Cant wait to see you all (including commenters and other moz fans) at SMX Advanced. Follow me on twitter if you want to catch up in Seattle.Dr. Pete - Im gonna see what I can influence on the thumbs behind the scenes. Ill find a way to take you down!Thank you again to all the guys and gals at SEOmoz for making this happen (especially Scott, Sarah and Gillian who worked crazy hard on contractual stuff). Lets see what we can do... Now, Id better go answer some Q&A...

You and I made the mistake of actually trying to get work done this month, Will, and Sean and Rishil grabbed their chance. Alas, but I fear the Great Dr. Pete/Critchlow war is now one for the history books.

Ah well. Those history books will make for good reading for the younguns. Hoping we can mark the end over a pint or two someday soon...
Terrific news - congrats to all involved. Should be a great partnership. :-)
Congratulations to the members on both "sides of the pond" as it were. I think this is a logical partnership on so many levels. Obviously there is a strong mutual respect and admiration between Rand and Will. I'm sure that also extends across all members of both companies. The fact that SEOmoz is now better able to respond to a much broader time zone range and more quickly is a very good thing.Due to strong and consistent contributions of Will, Tom, Duncan, Ciaran, Rishil and others, SEOmoz has a distinct "UK flair", which is something that I really like about this place.I'm looking forward to seeing how this develops and how the SEOmoz franchise continues to expand. Best wishes to all of you.

I'll be pushing the Distilled boys to get Rand to change optimization to optimisation...
I've been here over eighteen months; it's not looking good.
Cheers buddy, you are certainly right about the respect we have for everyone at SEOmoz. Your opinion that its a good idea carries a lot of weight for me (even though the details may be a little sparse just now!).

Kind words Will. Truly - there's nothing to "not like". You guys are a class act. God knows that we can use a little more "UK Proper". I mean - have you read some of the comments around here?!In a nod to Ciaran's efforts, let me just say:"It's wise to optimise". It just goes better. ;)

re: UK flair, I agree. I love the internationalization of the 'moz in general, seems like there tons of Aussies on here as well...oh, and at least one Kiwi ;)

RUN FOR THE HILLS! THE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US!!!!Just kidding :) Despite the rumors, it's great to see Distilled and SEOmoz growing so much this past year. It's well deserved. Of course, if anyone wants to throw a couple of contracts my way... ;)

Thanks Scott.I think its fair to say we are all really excited and honoured to get such an opportunity, and look forward to adding to the communityIts certainly true that we wouldnt be where we are today without SEOmoz.

Ciaran,Rand isn't following these guys on Twiiter and you're still one of only "The Dirty Dozen" that he does follow - so you have that going for ya.
Ciaran,

He's even following me! Although he threatens to unfollow me every time I get into an aggravating @ conversation with someone.
Thanks for all the comments guys - we're really looking forward to working more closely with the 'moz.Plus - shiny new badge. Awesome! :-D

Speaking of shiny new badges, when it comes down to it, this relationship really comes down to one thing - chemistry.

Nice to see my face is all over the internet. :) (Hi, I'm Andy, Distilled's Web Developer)
It's too bad Sean didn't Photoshop you and your hat.

What are you talking about Jane? Do you honestly think I would forget about Tom?

To quote Rand when he saw the picture by itself (with no 'shopping) "That is disturbing."
I think I just lost the will to live.
Or should that be "lost the tom to live"?
Jane,When you left the comment, surely you knew it was only a matter of time before I jumped on that softball. Truth be known, it was an oversight on my part. How the hell I missed that picture - I'll never know. I will say this - those damn Brits all look the same to me. I actually thought the third one was Tom, but I'm glad to be able to introduce Andy to the mix. You can never have too many Distilled characters. That said, I've now updated the cast photo. It took some doing, and a bit of creativity. In lieu of the original "Moz Squad", I now present to you "The Moz Quad".Okay, I think I've wasted enough time for one day. Have a good weekend...

Congratulations to both teams. I can tell this is going to be a great partnership. (Especially now that I know who's who and what's what Jane ;) )

Great news and I am sure both the teams win!
Congrats to both SEOMOZ and Distilled!
Brilliant news! This is very exciting and I look forward to seeing what will come out of this. Enjoyed the inputs from Team Distilled and had the distinct but brief pleasure of meeting Will at SMX West -- hopefully more time to chat at Advanced, with Will and Tom, not to mention the Mozzers!

Who owns who now? :)
Anyways, thats great! Your big in both the US and EU now!
Nobody owns anybody. This is not a fiefdom, we're simply banding together for the Greater Good (...the greater good).

Congratulations on this partnership that spands the distance between here and across the pond! You guys are a class act indeed
Looking forward to dropping by the SEOmoz stall to say hi at SMX. More so the party. Hows that coming along?!
Smashingly! We are arranging for a whiskey waterfall!
Not really.
Maybe.
Now youve said it...
Im in whisky heartland this weekend - want me to pick any up?
Hi,
Awesome news. Congratulaions!
Awesome guys - congrats Will, Tom, Duncan et the moz crew! See you all in Seattle :D.
